External gpu mac mini 20123/28/2023 The 1070 va the 970 on a Mac mini i7 over TB1 is not worth it performance wise in C1. The 980-series have good support and performs very well. The 970 is the most powerful in small form factor chassis. Has anyone here tried to use a modern eGPU (say nVidia 9xx or 10xx) with a Mac Mini 2012 (TB1)? How good/bad does it work, given the theoretical 10 Gbps bottleneck? Question 2: Assuming the external GPU or Hackintosh build works generally for my Mac needs, does Capture One have any particular incompatibilities making it a non-starter?īasically, when everything else is working with this non-traditional Mac setup, will Capture One work well as well? And which graphics cards have been shown to work well? (The support site only lists a handful for COP9 and more for COP8/7.don't know how up to date it is). Does anyone have any experience with these cards, on a Mac, in Capture One 10? Do they work well with OpenCL or are they incompatible (causing, as I've read, me to 'disable hardware acceleration')? Question 1: I'm considering a Nvidia 980 or 1060, or AMD RX480 or 580. Also, I think in general I can get this running. Through the eqpu.io site I'm pretty confident I can get a card working well.Ģ) Hackintosh build. I would like to add a GPU at my desk and see a couple options:ġ) External Thunderbolt GPU chassis, either the Mantiz Venus or Akitio Node. I have a late 2016 MacBook Pro 13" with Touchbar. Now that Capture One has robust support for my 24mp Fujis, I'm moving in completely.
